As a seasoned professional with 9 years of experience in many parts of software development, I have gained a deep understanding of the software development lifecycle, working in both finance at Bankwest and spending some time in the private sector at Resourceful software.I started my career as a Site Reliability Engineer, where I gained experience in managing and operating large-scale systems this has given me a strong foundation in the fundamentals of software engineering.I then spent 4 years as an API developer, where I gained experience in designing, developing, and testing APIs. I am proficient in a variety of API development frameworks and tools and I have a strong understanding of the principles of API design.I then spent 2 years in Platform Engineering/Devops space, where I used my knowledge of software development to help move apps from on prem to Azure and AWS.Most recently I took up a full stack/mobile dev role, which allows me to use my strong back end skills to help deliver our goals but also build up my front end software development knowledge with the goal to become a true full stack developer.I am passionate about automation, continuous integration, and continuous delivery, and enjoy working with teams to build scalable and reliable systems. With my experience in both software development and platform engineering, I am able to bridge the gap between development and operations teams to help organizations achieve their business objectives.In addition to my technical skills, I am a natural leader with strong communication skills which I've found are essential when working with the business to transform ideas into technical solutions. I am always eager to learn and enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with others. I am excited about the opportunities that Platform Engineering presents and look forward to continuing to grow in this field.
