Led the network’s groundbreaking and award-winning investigations of the NFL Concussion Settlement Program’s use of race-norming, “Out of Bounds,” which led to the league’s abandonment of the practice and calls for reform throughout neuropsychology; of the failure of U.S. authorities to probe the mysterious murders of a Syrian-American journalist and her mother in Turkey, “Justice for Halla,” which prompted a United Nations inquiry; and of serial sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associates, “Truth and Lies: Jeffrey Epstein,” which uncovered previously unreported financial entanglements between Epstein and billionaire Leslie Wexner.

Produced investigative features on the relationship between alleged Russian agent Maria Butina and high-ranking members of the National Rifle Association; on the alleged mishandling of complaints of sexual abuse by clergy members in the Catholic Diocese of Buffalo, which led to the bishop’s resignation; and on sexual misconduct allegations against a top figure skating coach, which prompted the Olympic Movement’s misconduct watchdog to issue a lifetime ban from the sport.

Served as lead writer and editor for major projects and guided complex and sensitive stories through standards and legal vetting to publication. Wrote and produced digital features for two Emmy-nominated investigations – one of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, which led to renewed calls from lawmakers for border agents to wear body cameras, the other of medical care in a privately-run immigration detention facility, which prompted calls for a congressional inquiry.

Designed and taught a new course sponsored by the Ottaway Foundation called “The Investigative Reporting Lab," in which student reporters pursued enterprise stories in partnership with reporters and editors at local outlets.

Designed and taught introductory journalism courses focused on building basic reporting and writing skills.

Wrote, edited and produced breaking news and investigative features for si.com and golf.com, with a particular focus on sports governance, drug testing and social issues. Co-reported a several thousand-word feature for Sports Illustrated called “First Golfer” about President Donald Trump’s global golf business that Trump called “fake news” but the Washington Post called “one of the best pieces of political journalism of the Trump age.”

Developed content partnerships for a startup mobile journalism project that partnered with journalists, news organizations, nonprofits and celebrities to create a network of travel/local discovery smartphone apps called Know What. Managed Kickstarter campaign for coastal public access project called Our Malibu Beaches that successfully raised over $30k and garnered international media attention.

Managed website and social media for the community news division's sports vertical.

Wrote news stories and compiled multimedia slideshows for abcnews.com.
