I have responsibility for chemical related process issues on a large onshore processing facility, with a design capacity of 450,000 bopd. Responsibilities include KPI monitoring and compliance, management of a team of local engineers and HSE management.

Iraq, Rumaila Field

Account Manager for a chemical management services contract in the Rumaila Oilfield in Southern Iraq – the second largest producing oilfield in the World. Duties include management of a team of 18, KPI monitoring and compliance, chemical sales and delivery, running and monitoring field trials, HSE compliance, preparing scopes of work and commercial proposals for upcoming opportunities, reporting to the client on issues relating to the contract and client-facing meetings.

Northern Producer Fpf

Initially Offshore Production Chemist, transitioned into Multi Skilled Operator role through on-the-job training and experience. 100% completion of Competent Person Profile for both Operator and Chemist roles, as well as OPITO City and Guilds Petroleum Processing Technology (with Distinction).As an MSO I was responsible for delivering safe, reliable operation of the asset, monitoring and controlling equipment and intervening and optimising plant conditions where required. Involvement with PTW, risk assessment, isolations, MOCs, LOLC registers, etc.As a Chemist, I was responsible for sampling and analysis of all oil, gas, water and utilities streams, and also management of production chemical stocks and chemical injection as well as calibration of all lab equipment. I was responsible for all chemical and lab orders, as well as environmental management and completing accurate daily reports and handovers.

Schiehallion Fpso

A rotation chemist on FPSO Schiehallion, performing all offshore chemist duties including oil, gas and water sampling and analysis, chemical injection and stock management.Sampling performed included: Crude oil (atmospheric and pressurised); riser sampling; hydrocarbon gas (atmospheric and pressurised); produced water; injection water; biostuds; utilities (glycol; cooling/heating mediums; diesel); lube oils.Analysis performed included:Oil: BS&W; water content by Karl Fischer titration; density; H2S; fiscal water analysis by Promix bench.Gas: Dewpoint analysis; draeger tube analysis (H2S and C02).Produced water: Oil in water; pH; sulphide; residual corrosion inhibitor.Injection water: Dissolved oxygen; residual sulphite; chlorine; iron; pH; microbiological analysis (SRB and GHB in water and on biostuds).Others: Hydraulic fluid cleanliness; flash point analysis; utilities analysis (pH, glycol content, iron, chloride, nitrite).

I was a Shift Chemist in a UKAS accredited laboratory at Sullom Voe Oil and Gas Terminal, performing a wide range of oil, gas and water sampling and analysis.
