I have developed modelling solutions to a variety of complex problems, combining imaging theory with rigorous and approximate modelling of the interaction of radiation (optical and X-ray) with matter.I have developed my own Finite Difference Time Domain code for analysing electromagnetic scattering problems and I am expert in its application.

CurrentMy research is focussed on quantitative preclinical imaging using both X-ray phase (multimodal) and photoacoustic tomography. The long term aim of the project is to build a hybrid instrument, and to develop theory to enable the X-ray phase information to inform the photoacoustic tomography inverse problem (optical and acoustic).
