Face of UKAR asset sales (mortgages, unsecured loans and commercial loans), pro-actively engaging with the debt purchase industry including investment banks, brokers, hedge funds, debt collection agencies and retail banks.Responsible for segmenting and valuing the £80 billion pound UKAR balance sheet to identify and execute asset disposal opportunities that aligned to UKAR appetite and strategy.

Face of Northern Rock to the Debt Advice Community including the free debt advice sector (CAB, Payplan, CCCS, MAT, MALG and CAP), the commercial debt advice sector, government and trade bodies (CML, BBA, DEMSA, DRF, LSB, CSA, IMA). Role reported on a monthly basis to Chief Operating Officer, Head of Secured Collections and Head of Unsecured Collections. In addition to this I also reported progress to Executive Committee and Board Members on an adhoc basis. Successful engagement dramatically improved Northern Rock's external reputation for supporting customers in financial difficulty. I used external feedback and insight to drive significant changes to internal collections processes including: - the adoption of CFS/CCCS expenditure guidelines- adding government schemes (SMI,HMS and MRS) to our debt solution toolkit- revisions of DMP/IVA policies- embedding pro-active referrals to debt advice- specialist MALG guideline training for sensitive team- improved website / face to face customer proposition for those in financial difficultyDuring an industry benchmarking exercise in June 2010 KPMG commented that through the Debt Advice Manager role I had created a ‘market leading approach clearly aligned to industry and regulatory objectives around treating customers fairly and managing financial hardship’

After a rigorous and intensely competitive application process to get onto the scheme I proudly emerged as one of the 20 successful candidates out of 1000+ applicants.The trainee scheme was designed to produce the next senior leaders of the business and involved regular contact and mentoring with senior executives. Under the scheme I undertook a number of diverse roles including: - Supplier Manager (managing relationships with suppliers who supported debt management e.g Asset Managers, Field Agents, DCA's and Legal Service Providers)­- Unsecured Collections Manager (responsible for collection strategy and performance on a bespoke unsecured portfolio) ­- Operations Manager (responsible for large mortgage customer service area)* Performance on the scheme was measured quarterly and based on success in local role, global role, self development and CSR contribution. Each quarter my performance was rated as outstanding and I progressed ahead of scheme expectations.
