Led a department of 18 full-time faculty, 30-50 graduate students, and other instructors in the role of Department Chair. Created, led, and coordinated a 20-person teaching team for a required, year-long, interdisciplinary first-year course in the College of Media, Communication and Information. Won a university-wide teaching award. Published and/or edited multiple books and scholarly articles. Helped start and co-edited an open access, scholar-run journal published in English and Spanish. Served on an international, Spanish-speaking research team with members from Spain, Portugal, and Latin America. Helped translate a scholarly book from Spanish to English.
