Microsoft Access and VBA developer for the Group Food Sourcing systems department at Tesco headquarters. Responsible for developing software to monitor global commodity prices to forecast the price changes of ingredients in a range of Tesco products. This role required:• Liaison between the product buyers, software developers and upper management to develop software that was accurate and allowed our key stakeholders to make informed decisions.• Weekly progress briefings to upper management.• Complex VBA and Microsoft Access knowledge. • Self-motivation, time-keeping and attention to detail.

Composite materials research, testing & analysis

I took part in a 13 week summer placement project, with a leading electronics defence company. During this time on a day-to-day basis I was involved with the supportability engineering team, providing assistance with customer care, product support and technical documentation. Running simultaneously to this was a summer placement-dedicated design project, for an immediate action, deployable, reconnaissance UAV. This project culminated, after a series of design reviews, with a full presentation to heads of departments.This role gave me the opportunity to gain valuable insight into the nature of a graduate placement, as well as improving I.T, communication and general engineering skills.
