About Peter Spence

I draw upon education and experience obtained across diverse industry backgrounds, including senior law enforcement and health management to bring value to my clients. As the Principal of Strategic Planning and Negotiation Services (SPANS), I have provided organisational development, strategic planning, negotiation, conflict resolution education, coaching and advisement services to a variety of organisations across mining and energy, finance, commercial, not for profit and health care sectors.I have extensive negotiation and ADR experience, both as a former qualified Police Negotiator, accredited mediator, and through engagements in commercial negotiations, development of collaborative partnerships and alliances. I have developed and delivered Negotiation presentations, training programs and workshops to organisations and individuals across sectors. Having completed the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation ‘Teaching Negotiation in the Organisation’ in 2003 I have chosen to adopt the experiential Harvard Negotiation Training framework in the delivery of Negotiation training and development. I have adapted the Harvard model through research into the use of Negotiation training as an accelerator of collaborative enterprise and incorporated the key concepts of developing Negotiation as a core organisational competency.
