I am an experienced Project/Program/Bid Manager with over 43 years working in Defence & Defence Industry. My strong financial & commercial awareness, having managed scope within complex projects, tenders & contracts (particularly within ASDEFCON framework), allows me to manage all stakeholders involved from senior management, customers, teams (the people) and suppliers. I manage team performance (good & bad) by clearly explaining goals & scope while supporting, consulting and guiding the individuals to ensure they have the training, knowledge, time & capacity to perform their allocated tasks. I am a confident communicator across all levels both written and verbal & am not afraid to ask the hard questions or make decisions. People trust me to do the right thing & come up with achievable solutions. I understand the scope of the tasks, including managing risks & opportunities, and what success looks like for my customers. I understand Defence's needs and requirements aligned with the capability lifecycle, especially within the ASDEFCON framework. I have successfully delivered both Acquisition & Sustainment projects to CASG and DIH as well as provided consulting services to Defence Industry for their deliverables both in Project delivery or responses to tenders. I am a successful Bid Manager and accomplished contributor to tenders in both a writing or reviewer capacity. (Plans, TDRLs, Colour reviews).I strongly support Australian Industry Capability in delivering Defence's needs and have extensive experience and knowledge in assisting Defence Industry to maximise their contributions and compliance responsibilities.I am passionate about supporting people in their career development, using my skills and sharing my experience (both wins and losses) to guide and mentor anyone that asks for assistance whether a young person starting out or more experienced heads that want to bounce an idea or two off me. I always participate in "buddy" programs for new starters within organisations to support them in coming to grips the people, processes and nuances of a new organisation which is always scary for anyone.I have Certified Practicing Project Director (CPPD) accreditation from AIPM and am currently Security Cleared to NV-1.I strongly believe my skills, experience and attitude have benefitted every organisation I have been involved with throughout the various aspects of my career, and will continue to do so in the future.
