The programme management of business critical IT logistic projects within Wincanton Logistics.The consolidation and merger of two logistics services companies into a centralised IT data-centre environment This was achieved using Vmware virtualisation technology to reduce costs and minimise potential service outages

The overall management of a team of fourteen third line project assure staff I was responsible for the overall technical design and implementation of key strategic IT projects into the Swindon and Park Royal data-centres.This involved the Technical design and implementation of the following platform technologies. Example’s below• San Design • Platform design Physical and Virtual• Operating system design• Switching and Load Balancing Technologies• The consolidation of five data-centres with the use of VM-Ware and Blade centre technologies. This project had an annual operational cost saving of approximately two million pounds per year.I designed and then managed the team that delivered the IT infrastructure to support the consolidation of over two hundred applications supported by twelve hundred serversThis project has an annual capital expenditure saving of over two million pounds per year.

This role involved the planning and development of a team of highly developed internal IT support staff to maintain and expand the IT infrastructure, to meet the current and future business demands.My team was responsible for the support of a multi-national user base of over 2000 employees in various European locations. This role also required the evaluation and production of IT capex proposals to enable the development of major IT restructuring projects.As Group IT Manager I reduced the internal IT operational costs by over 20%, with the implementation of new external support contracts and the consolidation of office locations.
