I work closely with bioscience and translational science teams within Research to understand where bioinformatics approaches can best impact their scientific and technical challenges.On a daily basis I design and apply innovative computational/statistical algorithms and visualizations to:--Generate actionable biological insight from high-throughput.

I was primarily involved in two IMI-funded projects aimed at discovery of biomarkers of T2DM subtypes and their progression: DIRECT (www.direct-diabetes.org) and RHAPSODY.

As a biomedical informatics postgraduate researcher I successfully lead multiple omics-oriented projects focused on biomarker discovery for human skeletal muscle plasticity ⎯ both in health and lifestyle-inflicted chronic disease.Supervisor: Prof. Francesco Falciani (now at Liverpool University)

Focus: global miRNA profiling in human primary myoblasts and myotubes. The overall aim was to compare the myogenic process in type 2 diabetics and healthy controls.Funded by a one-year introduction scholarship (personal award) from the Copenhagen University Hospital.

Master’s thesis at the Department of Biomedical Sciences, Xlab – University of Copenhagen. Supported by a 1-year Novo Nordisk Scholarship (personal award). My project focused on the regulation of human skeletal muscle microRNA – influenced by resistance training-induced hypertrophy and insulin resistance. This project resulted in one first authorship paper.

Teached undergraduate students (Biologists) in statistics

I worked in the laboratory producing DNA probes---in the Kits & Reagens Production department---where I subcultured and subsequently harvested cell cultures.

Bachelor thesis under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Henriette Pilegaard, University of Copenhagen, Denmark, for the period of six months. Title: The effects of IL-6 on age-related changes in mRNA expression in brain and skeletal muscle – examined in knockout mice. Techniques used: total RNA isolation; RT-reactions; PCR; qRT-PCR; primer/TaqMan probe.

Worked with physical and mentally disabled people.** A very demanding task which has improved my human qualifications.** Made great demands on the co-operation between the employees. Thus, today I feel that I have become a good team player in my professional life.
