I retired from paid employment in September 2018 and am now pursuing a range of interests and activities including local history, voluntary work, walking and drinking premium coffee. I have recently become a volunteer at my St Ives Museum and a Senior Watchkeeper with the National Coastwatch Institution at the St Ives Coastwatch Station. I'm also the Assistant Curator at St Ives Museum with a particular focus on digitalisation. I'm busier now than when I was working!Prior to retirement I was an experienced IT professional executive with 25+ years of operational IT management experience, 10 at Director level. I have substantial experience of strategy development and execution, large scale programme management, outsourcing and resource management. I also gained some hands on Enterprise Architecture experience working as Chief Architect for a large global company. In my IT Leadership roles I was responsible for leading large teams and managing substantial budgets. In particular I liked the challenge of managing change and implementing significant projects, and enjoyed seeing how the successful deployment of innovation and technology could deliver business benefits. In my Executive Partner role I sought to use my experience and the significant resources of the Gartner organisation to help my clients succeed.Specialties: Enterprise Architecture, strategy development, outsourcing, large scale project management, contract negotiation, mergers and acquisition, change management, service management.
