I am a Master Mariner with 15+ years of experience working on all types of oceangoing merchant vessels. During the past 10 years I have been specializing in intermodal marine transportation. Job skills include finding solutions to complex problems and leading personnel safely to meet that solution. As Captain and Chief Officer of a 62,000 ton deadweight containership I am ultimately responsible for a crew of 26, a vessel worth 10+ million dollars and the cargo onboard that can be valued in the 100's of millions of dollars. At every port I would oversee the loading and discharging of up to 15,000 containers weighing somewhere around 40,000 metric tons and I constantly work with cargo planners to find solutions that increase yard production.As Master I would be accountable for a $300,000 dollar payroll per voyage and have $30,000 to $50,000 on hand.I am proud to have assisted Maersk Line achieve 27.3 billion dollars in revenue and a 2.3 billion dollar profit for 2014. This accomplishment was achieved buy constantly finding ways to safely maximize vessel capacity while reducing fuel consumption. Responsibilities also include writing technical specifications for vessel maintenance and repair contracts to ensure uninterrupted reliable operation of the vessel.I am fluent with Microsoft Office products as well as vessel specific software that assist to maximize capacity while reducing fuel consumption in an onward goal of meeting corporate financial and carbon footprint forecasts.
