Primatics business solutions are built using EVOLV, a scalable application platform for automating finance and risk processes that combines on-demand utility computing, Software-as-a-Service delivery, and Big Data analytics. As a senior technical lead within the Primatics software development group, my role was to identify new approaches to distributed computing and data analytics that enable solutions to be more scalable, flexible, and manageable. My latest project was applying open-source big-data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Scala, Amazon EMR) to our data transformation stack, using a model-based processing framework I developed that mapped business data transformations to a series of Spark jobs. I was also responsible for improving the quality and efficiency of our software development processes, including test-driven development, build management, and devops.
