Adaptive Real Estate Services (ARES) produced full-featured, hosted, IDX web sites for real estate agents and brokers. As a contract engineer, I helped to design and implement Secrets of Stargate and Rob Roy Legends of the Mist CD-ROMs for both Mac and PC. After the release of the English language versions, I created for German, Japanese and Korean markets.My responsibilities included co-ordination of assets and material management, video digitizing and compression, supervision testing and quality assurance, project engineering, creation and management of automated systems for localization of text and video.

First as a consultant and then as the first employee at this startup, I worked with the founders to develop HyperCard and CD-ROM based user interfaces for a variety of clients including Apple, 3Com, Mayo Clinic, Claris Corporation - more than 40 interactive projects encompassing over 70 CD-ROMs in total.My responsibilities included co-ordination of assets and material management, supervision of testing and quality assurance, project engineering, CD-ROM preparation and pressing, and user interface design.To my knowledge, I was the first person to create a content management system, facilitating the creation of CD-ROMs by separating the management of assets and the front end, and utilizing automated systems to generate the final products.Medior was acquired by AOL in 1995.

As a contract engineer, I helped to design and then developed an interactive interface to several educational laserdisc. The most notable of these was 42 laserdisc set of the Video Encyclopedia of the 20th Century. This project represented 77 hours of primary source content and over 2,300 searchable segments covering the people, events and issues responsible for shaping the years 1893-1990, along with supporting text and tools for students.

In my role as a consultant, I provided software quality assurance for HyperCard IIGS. My focus was to test the HyperTalk programming language including all built-in commands, functions, constants, operators, and properties. I designed, implemented and managed “Hyper Test Engine” - an automated system containing a complete test matrix with sophisticated reporting and statistical functions to allow me to quickly test new builds, do regression testing and more.
