In my role as a casual academic at Flinders University I was responsible for engaging directly with students to provide them a quality educational experience. I taught mostly computing and some mathematics topics with tasks including: • Developing custom practical content.• Acting as a demonstrator to observe completion of practical content.• Preparation and presentation of tutorials and custom self-developed lecture content.• Mentoring students as part of support sessions.• Engaging with topic coordinators to improve topics.• Routine and exam marking. Topics I taught at Flinders University included (in no particular order): Computer Programming 1, Computer Programming 2, Mathematics 1B, Elements of Mathematics, Computer Game Development, Simulation and Serious Game Design, Interactive Computer Systems, Serious Games, Web-based Systems Development, mentoring programs, and overseeing third year projects as a co-supervisor.

As part of a Scholarship granted by the university, I developed software to allow a Brain Computer Interface researcher to perform research into Steady-State Visual Evoked Potential. I developed prototypes using C# and XNA before developing the final version in C++ using DirectX 11. The software acted as a visual stimulus with configuration suitable to the needs of the researcher. After development of the software, I assisted with equipment tests to determine suitable experiment parameters and subsequent result analysis.
