Peter Stewart is a Principal at Coleman Greig and a key member of the firm’s commercial advice team.Peter is an accomplished commercial lawyer who is able to bring broad-ranging legal expertise, extensive senior management experience, and a high level of commercial acumen to his role as a Principal of Coleman Greig Lawyers.During his time with Coleman Greig, Peter has provided advice and representation to numerous clients on a host of complex commercial issues, including share and business sale agreements, manufacturing, distribution and licensing agreements, commercial contracts and corporate governance issues. As a result of his experience and commitment to clients, Peter has also developed a comprehensive understanding of the issues facing businesses today. He works closely with organisations of all sizes, from subsidiaries of multinationals through to large privately-owned entities, family businesses and small-medium enterprises and has gained an in-depth knowledge of industries such as IT, transport, franchising and manufacturing.Peter takes pride in the fact that he remains accessible and responsive to clients' needs. He is able to offer prompt, effective and commercially-focused advice, when a client needs it, and most importantly, he recognises and understands the demands of commercial realities. Peter holds non-executive positions on a number of advisory Boards and provides in-house training for clients on directors’ responsibilities as well as assisting companies to develop and implement sound corporate governance. In recent years, Peter has also developed particular expertise in the Personal Property Securities Act 2009 (PPSA) and has presented and advised widely on this topic, understanding that the practical applications of this new Act are far reaching for many businesses. Peter is also a Public Notary.
