As a new role funded by the Ofcom Community Radio Fund, the Technical Development and Sustainability Manager post is part of the organisations five-year operational plan establishing the ‘Oldham Community Broadcasting Hub’ to cement its status as a community anchor organisation based in the heart of the Oldham Town Centre regeneration.The core of the Oldham Community Broadcasting Hub is the long-established Community Radio service, supplemented by a Digital Radio service, launching in mid-2023, alongside video and hyper-local journalism activities.I am responsible for developing and driving forward creative use of technology and the growth of the Oldham Community Broadcasting Hub encompassing IT, audio and video production, ‘visual radio’, FM and DAB transmission, live performance and online streaming and website development. Including innovative technical solutions to help facilitate multiple income streams aiding the ongoing sustainability of the organisation.Working with both technical volunteers and third-party contractors and service providers I am responsible for, Radio broadcast and recording studios, Broadcast and office IT infrastructure, Outside broadcast facilities, FM and DAB transmitter facilities, Video production and ‘visual radio’ systems, Live performance facilities and online streaming and website development.

I oversee both day to day technical operations and strategic planning.I am responsible for a variety of audio, IT and RF systems including Broadcast Radio Myriad Playout and Powerlog systems, broadcast studios and a variety of production and outside broadcast equipment.I am the stations lead in our development of Small Scale DAB broadcasting.

Based in the Higher Education delivery arm of The Manchester College / LTE Group, working closely with teaching staff and IT services to facilitate course delivery including broadcast production, photography, graphic design, game design and animation degree level courses.My responsibilities include overseeing maintain of a wide range of equipment and resources including cameras and recorders, DSLRs, photography studio, dark room, digital and screen printing.

All FM based in Levenshulme was part of the Radio Authorities ‘Access Radio pilot scheme’ in 2002 which led to the establishment of permanent Community Radio licences in the UK. Across these stations I am responsible for studio and broadcast equipment install and maintenance utilising a variety of analogue, digital and AoIP systems from Soundcraft, Axia, Myriad playout systems and Adobe Audition and Audacity audio editing systems.I have overseen major premises moves in 2004 and 2018 manging all technical infrastructure and studio builds.

Consultancy providing technical support, equipment installation, audio and video production, commercial production.Clients have included Crescent Radio, Peace FM, The Manchester College.

Responsible for technical support and maintenance and overseen the technical logistics of two premise moves.I provide support in Broadcast Radio Myriad player system administration, programming and music and commercial scheduleing.I had previously provided technical support and consultancy since the stations inception in the mid 2000's via my posts at Radio Regen and The Manchester College.

I am responsible for studio and broadcast equipment install and maintenance utilising a variety of analogue, digital and audio systems, PSquared Myriad playout systems and Adobe Audition audio editing workstations.

Responsibilities include overseeing and maintenance of two broadcast specification radio studios, utilising Axia Radius consoles and Livewire technology with PSquared Myriad playout systems. Production facilities with Adobe Audition DAWs and various location recording equipment.

Maintenance and support of post-production facilities for "Manchester Film School" and Manchester College TV Broadcast courses including multiple Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premier Pro, Pro Tools and Davinci Resolve suites.

I oversaw all technical, broadcast and IT facilities for this Manchester based charity that uses the medium of community radio to tackle disadvantage and promote the regeneration of deprived areas. Projects I worked on included a long term partnership with MANCAT/The Manchester College to deliver radio production courses at BTEC and Foundation Degree level and short training courses culminating in short temporary RSL radio broadcasts in areas such as Salford and Moss Side. My responsibilities included liaising with technical suppliers, creation of technical training materials and delivery of technical training to both staff and trainees.

With specific responsibility for a portable multi-camera system used for both student work and corporateproductions and manging several Avid Media Composer video editing suites.
