I had a long and successful career in the shipping industry as a Navigating Officer, Marine Surveyor and finally as an Admiralty & Shipping lawyer. I still maintain my strong interest in the shipping industry and now fill some of my time in various voluntary roles. I am a member of the Nautical Institute's IMO Committee, a Mentor on the Honourable Company of Master Mariners mentoring scheme and a Mentor on the Marine Society's Coming Ashore Programme. I am also a member of the Nautical Institute London Branch Committee and have helped to organise 10 of their conferences over the past 20+ years.I am a Fellow of the Nautical Institute and a Liveryman of the Honourable Company of Master Mariners.
