Counseling, regional litigation in Federal and State courts and transactional work for a broad spectrum of foreign and U.S. corporate clients in the following areas:• Transportation, including maritime, trucking, intermodal.• Environmental – Represent variety of domestic and foreign businesses in Federal and State administrative procedures and litigation and counsel response under MARPOL, OPA ’90, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, PSRPA and related Federal and State regulations.• International transactions, contracts, trade issues and litigation – Variety of commercial and trade regulatory issues with US companies doing business in Latin America, Europe and elsewhere; foreign clients involved in business matters in the US.• Commercial and liability defense litigation – Foreign and domestic sales issues, counseling of foreign and U.S. businesses in local risks, contracts, liability and insurance coverage. Over eighteen years litigation experience at all levels of Federal and State courts in Florida. Federal trial and appellate litigation in Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia. Administrative proceedings before Customs, Coast Guard, NLRB, Corps of Engineers, National Pollution Funds Center, INS, Florida DEP. Arbitration and mediation.• Admiralty and maritime – Represent foreign and US-owned vessel operators and insurers, including members of the International Group of P&I Clubs, in all aspects of maritime issues and litigation, including carriage contracts, charter parties, maritime personnel injury and death, cargo, environmental, vessel sales and financing, collisions/allisions, towage, customs, security, SOLAS and related regulatory issues.• Labor - Represent management in Title VII and related state claims, Federal trials and arbitration.• Government contracts – Represent private contractors working under Federal Acquisition Regulations and related matters.

Winter Semester. Lecturer in US Federal Civil Procedure and instructor in Seminar on Intermodal Transportation Law.

Lecturer in maritime charter party law and intermodal transportation.

Handled all aspects of Admiralty and maritime litigation practice, with emphasis on blue water cargo and marine personnel matters, towage, oil and gas.

Assisted in preparation and coordination of speeches and visits on an “as needed” basis. Worked on set-up and coordination of 1988 Republican National Convention in New Orleans.

Researched and drafted opinions, orders and memoranda.
