I use LinkedIn as a rather unconventional means to learn about other people's hobbies and projects which I believe are just as important as a cover letter, resume, or reference. Me? While I am an avid fan of Radford University and the University of Tennessee Men's and Women's Basketball I truly believe the three most important seasons of all are Baseball Football and Christmas and nothing is more important than faith, family and friends. AND make no mistake, my two dogs are considered family. My favorite teams are (in no particular order) Radford University Baseball, and Men's and Women's Basketball, Tennessee Volunteers Football, Baseball and Basketball, Lady Vols Basketball, Cincinnati Reds, and Minnesota Vikings. I follow most MiLB teams especially Blue Jays and Angels.Speaking of Angels... Sunday August 2, 2020 Angels in Heaven were watching over me as I nearly drowned in the New River a mere three blocks from my home. Fortunate for me several folks witnessed my peril and called 911. Moments later two of Radford's finest pulled me from the river. Thank you Travis and Clayton (RCPD)In the workplace I believe it's important for an employee to take mental ownership of the company, treating their respective roles & responsibilities as if the store were their own. I also believe wholeheartedly in the 3-Cs of management: Coach, Commend, Critique. You absolutely cannot Critique employees if you haven't properly Coached them. After critiquing you must find a way to Commend them. I started with 7- Eleven Radford January 3, 2011 and was promoted to General Manager September 5, 2015. My last day was August 17, 2022. During my time there I helped our store usher in many of S.E.I. business transformation programs enabling stores to progress from a conventional convenience store to one of the nation's most preferred "one-stop" food and convenience locations. I firmly believe in 2nd chances; mistakes will be made as will amends and adjustments. God knows that I have been given a new lease on life and I am constantly striving for a return to a life of acceptance and normalcy.🐾Please consider adopting a pet from your local ASPCA or Humane Society.
