National Cannabis Festival celebrates progress on legalization of marijuana through live music, advocacy and exhibitions.

The National Cannabis Policy Summit brings together a diverse group of activists and leaders from government, business, healthcare, veterans groups, and civil rights organizations to discuss today’s most pressing cannabis policy challenges and opportunities.Timed to take place the day prior to the National Cannabis Festival, the Summit is Washington, D.C.’s premier celebration of cannabis advocacy and a call to action for American leadership in defense of state’s rights and the will of the voters, in Washington, D.C. and around the country.

Planning annual Kennedy Center gala. designing and launching event website and social media platforms. Managing CMS and social media platforms for all Education Fund initiatives. Managing all press inquiries, drafting talking points, blogs, op-eds, articles, annual report, and collateral pieces. Building and maintaining relationships with local organizations – civic, philanthropic, and corporate – to further the Education Fund’s impact in reforming DC schools.

Directing national community outreach campaign to raise awareness of Reading is Fundamental literacy initiatives. Working with volunteers, community groups, and schools to coordinate literacy events. Establishing relationships with outside organizations to advance RIF’s mission.HIGHLIGHTS: Planning and executing 2010 RIF/NASCAR events throughout Charlotte, N.C., coordinating RIF participation in 2010 Let’s Read Let’s Move campaign, planning and executing 2011 FESTIBA Literacy Festival in South Texas, coordinating RIF partnership with PTA for national urban education initiative, engaging the Kiwanis Rotary Club to support RIF initiatives in Texas, establishing and managing RIF relationship with Library of Congress for special children’s events and National Book Festival.

Planning, negotiating, and managing all high level events involving dignitaries, television programs, and press. Liaison to the entertainment industry to approve or deny the use of the Georgetown University name, logo, and facilities.HIGHLIGHTS: Visits by President Obama, hosting U.S.-Afghan Women’s Conference with First Lady Laura Bush, coordinating logistics for ESPN’s Homecoming with Rick Reilly, Doha Debates, visit by V.P. Biden, planning and executing annual Martin Luther King Legacy of the Dream Award at the Kennedy Center.

Overseeing logistics of all BMW Center events, acting as a liaison between the Center and co-sponsoring organizations, marketing events to both the campus community and the general public.

Planning and executing seasonal marketing campaigns. Designing collateral materials, print advertisements, and website elements to complement company-wide promotions. Planning and staffing special events in-store and on-location.
