Senior Backend Developer
CurrentC#, .Net 5, MariaDB, NSQ, Gitlab, MacOS, JetBrains Rider/DataGripCoinigy allows cryptocurrency traders to monitor markets from many exchanges, monitor their portfolio, make trades, receive alerts, and many other actions all via a mobile app and web app.As one of the backend developers, my role is to help keep the system performing smoothly, introduce new features, improve the development process, and support the mobile and frontend needs from the API.► Instituted and maintained the continuous integration process using Gitlab CI/CD and Docker Swarm. This allowed the team to release more often and with little fanfare because the process is consistent and reliable.► Presented an alternative method of scaling via message queue (NSQ). This allowed us to focus on architecting various system features in a more efficient manner and scale them without increasing database contention.► Introduced various levels of design decisions into the C# code base to reduce coupling and increase cohesion. These mainly centered around dependency injection but also include how we handle HTTP requests, separate concerns, create the exchange implementations, and various other improvements which allows for more flexibility and ease of use.► Debugged and generated feedback for various areas of improvement ranging from DNS related changes, load balancing, performance enhancements, monitoring, frontend requests, etc.► Crossed language boundaries into frontend development (JavaScript, ReactJS, Webpack) and other backend applications (PHP, nginx, haproxy) when necessary.
