As a Heritage and Museum Officer at the Mpumalanga Department of Culture, Sport and Recreation, I work with artefact tools and materials, research projects, and exhibition and outreach programs, to protect and share the rich and diverse history and culture of South Africa. I have been in this role for over two years, and I have developed and applied my core competencies in heritage promotion, artefact preservation and conservation, data collection and analysis, report writing, and compliance with heritage and cultural acts of South Africa.I hold an Honours degree in Anthropology and a BA in Sociology and Anthropology from the University of Limpopo, where I gained knowledge of indigenous medicinal plants, which I used in my previous experience as a student researcher at the Robben Island Museum. I also have skills in typing, receptionist duties, and problem-solving, which I use in my daily tasks and interactions. I am passionate about contributing to the development and transformation of the heritage and museum sector, and I seek to learn from and collaborate with other professionals, stakeholders, and communities in this field.
