SUMMARY: Under general supervision, coordinates initial contact with customers requesting new service installation, retirements, and relocations. Generates customer line extension requests, processes service/yard line orders, and resolves customer inquiries and/or complaints. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Interviews customers to acquire essential and necessary information for service order requests; offers suggestions, ideas, and/or options to ensure customer receives information pertinent to their needs Sets up the service requests for new installations, retirements, and relocations, utilizing and complying with all departmental processes and systems Processes gas service/yard line orders, in a timely and accurate manner; engages in continuous improvement efforts, by making recommendations for improving procedures for processing permits and gas yard lines Provides estimates to customers desiring gas line extensions as needed Initiates, processes, and monitors contracts; collects money due Performs data and order entry, record keeping; coordinates field inspections; requests utility locates; completes scheduling and processing Verifies service order information and ensures appropriate billing records Coordinate scheduling of contractor and company crews Researches, develops, and provides information and reports COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of gas service delivery process, gas work order process gas line extension policies, the ability to handle customer complaints/inquires, distribution line design, right-of-way, construction and meter standards Knowledge of Company procedures and policies and local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to the duties assigned Ability to coordinate with customer and regulatory agencies Skilled expertise in performing a wide range of customer service function, which may include organize line locating, meter sets, inquiries, complaints.
