Peter Chadwick has extensive strategic and operational conservation experience gained through the direct management of large public and private terrestrial protected areas, marine protected areas, world heritage sites, transfrontier parks and biosphere reserves. I offer conservation and environmental management expertise across the region that will inform and improve management and decision making regarding the sustainable use of the environment. Co-ordinate the improved management and possible expansion of Marine Protected Areas within South Africa, with support to other southern African Marine Protected Areas as identified and required. Co-ordinate the improved management and implementation of Integrated Coastal Zone Management• Guide the overall implementation of the Integrated Ocean Use Programme• Develop strategic and innovative conservation initiatives, products and partnerships within Marine Protected Areas (MPA’s) and Integrated Coastal Zone Management• Ensure a high level of media exposure and public support for Marine Protected Areas. • Influence the Strategic direction of MPA’s and Integrated Coastal Zone Management• Enhance the financial security of MPA’s• Enhance the human and hardware capacity of MPA’s• Develop a network of partnerships and support systems for MPA’s and Integrated Coastal Zone Management• Promote and support the strategic expansion of MPA’s• To develop capacity for improved MPA and marine management effectiveness• Developing and implementing informed and integrated spatial understanding and management of Marine Protected Areas taking due consideration of ecological, social and governance issues.• Developing and implementing integrated and cohesive management of marine resources.• Developing and implementing a better understanding of the socio-economic value and opportunities of Marine Protected Areas.• Developing and implementing a better understanding of community co-management needs in the areas within and adjacent to Marine Protected Area’s.

Execute, co-ordinate & integrate overall management of the terrestrial reserve & Marine Protected Area, including terrestrial & marine conservation, tourism, environmental education, community conservation activities and ensuring contractual obligations are met by the private concessionaire.
