Narrative Designer
CurrentI write branching conversations in video games for PC and console. Storylines offer a breath of choice and consequence, reactivity, and revelations that challenge expectations. As a Narrative Designer I write from the player's point of view, which means anticipating and reacting to a wide variety of roleplay options. We use flowcharts to manage dialogue flow, quest states, impactful decisions, reputation, player customization, inventory, etc. I also work on developing lore, writing item descriptions, quest journals, combat barks, ambient banter, etc. Once spoken dialogue is locked for localization, I attend voiceover sessions to help supervise recordings, coach actors, and make sure we get the performance that matches the character. Tools include Obsidian's proprietary dialogue editor, Unity, Unreal, Perforce, Confluence, and JIRA.
