Site Reliability Engineer
Current▪Create dashboards (Grafana/Elastic) to enhance operations and observability.▪Serve as the Database Administrator for our PostgreSQL databases which are crucial for our Grafana dashboards, alerts and observability/automation scripts. ▪Coordinate with team members to troubleshoot issues and rework automation scripts for better efficiency and more streamlined procedures.▪Create/manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub/Git and Concourse.▪Provide day-to-day support of our CDVR application. ▪Document Standard Operating Procedures (SMOPs) for troubleshooting.▪Create and program Slackbot for notification alerts, data collection and easier triaging.▪Oversee pod health, including but not limited to setting up alerting and monitoring systems, automating triaging steps, handling logging, and ensuring early detection and overall operational efficiency for our infrastructure on Kubernetes.▪Lead design discussions for assigned projects and tasks.▪Offer guidance to, and encourage collaboration amongst, colleagues.▪Handle a variety of on-call responsibilities as they arise. Major Projects:▪Researched, planned and pitched Apache Airflow to key stakeholders to create solutions for automating tasks leading to faster anomaly detection, triaging and data integrity.▪Designed and implemented a transition plan from an Observability to Site Reliability Engineering team.▪Served as one of the key engineers on the RIO cDVR log reform project. The end goal is to convert all component logs from Splunk to JSON format for better performance ingesting into ELK. Responsible for assisting with the design and implementation of log changes along with the testing/setup of logging rules to targets through our in-house application.
