As Chief Government Affairs Officer, he directed the federal and state legislative, grassroots, and PAC teams, securing patient and commercial victories through countless battles, including the Affordable Care Act and the BPCIA. Chris worked directly with top management on all industry trade association activities, implemented award winning employee and patient grassroots programs, and led the establishment and remarkable growth of the company PAC.

During the internet boom of the early 2000’s, Porter earned his communications stripes as CEO of consulting and internet media companies YourCongress, Inc and Blutarsky Media LLC, winning a 2001 Webby Award. As a consultant for the American Diabetes Association, Porter worked with Congress and the Executive Branch to create a groundbreaking national exemption program for interstate truckers with diabetes.

He served in Congress for 10 years in senior health policy roles including as Co-Staff Director of the Congressional Diabetes Caucus, Chief of Staff, and Legislative Director. Porter played key behind-the-scenes roles on major legislative initiatives at the House Commerce Committee in Medicare, Medicaid, FDA, budget and appropriations, public health, and chronic disease. Chris received recognition from numerous patient organizations for his work leading passage of a $1.9 billion Medicare benefit for people with diabetes.
