I am a partner in law firm Blake Morgan and also until May 2021 its Chairman .I have had a long career advising both private and public organisations on all aspects of commercial, corporate policy and governance advice. The hallmark of that advice has been the combination of legal knowledge with commercial acumen to deliver effective practical solutions for clients. Experience includes:• Advising various public sector body (especially Health) on commercial projects, service transfers, commissioning, governance, policy development, stakeholder engagement and project implementation.• Working inside Whitehall both in the Department of Health and across government including with H M Treasury, Cabinet Office and DfE, including a 5 year secondment to the Department of Health. Project works and major transactions including 5 major NHS mergers as well as the South London and Mid Staffs disaggregation and dissolution including major public consultation exercises.• Corporate work, especially spin outs, acquisitions and disposals and management buy-outs.• Extensive advisory work on business recovery and insolvency across receivership, administrations and complex partnership and public and treaty body insolvency and transfers.• Commercial work especially in IT and information security, developing new legal models and mixed legal/advisory/educational approaches to new legal risks.• Supporting organisational development and governance development across health and social care often working with multi disciplinary teams from other professional disciplines.As Chairman of Blake Morgan I was very excited to be leading an excellent team of outstanding lawyers and business support teams all working together to build on our very strong reputations and market positions in the South of England and Wales as well as in our national areas of practice including regulatory, health, banking and finance, retail and leisure and charities. I am now delighted and proud to be returning full time from May 2021 to lead the Blake Morgan Health and Care practice which continues to deliver outstanding work for a range of clients in and supporting the NHS at national, regional and local level in England and Wales.
