Extensive dealings with MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) during setting up of the Commodities Derivatives exchange i.e. Singapore Mercantile Exchange (SMX), the second licensed exchange of Singapore, now bought over by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE). In Standard Chartered Bank, managed the role of Change Management in the domain of Custody clearing & settlement. Got exposure to the capital markets of over 30 countries, including Africa, Asia (south and south east, including China and Hong Kong) and Middle east countries. Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of clearing & settlement, regulatory reporting, revenue recognition and billing. Also, dealing with the various internal stakeholders such as Business Team, Finance & Accounts Team, Products Team, Technology Team, Country operations teams and senior country stakeholders, Vendor Management and external stakeholders such as Regulators, Clearing Members, Broker Members, Settlement Banks, Insurance companies. In the current profile with Abaxx Exchange, am part of the pioneer team responsible for setting the Exchange (RMO) and Clearing House (ACH). Job involves operations process and procedure finalization, regulatory documents review and team formation. A uniquely challenging opportunity in one's career, setting up a highly regulated infrastructure using state-of-the-art technology.Successfully secured the In Principle Approval for both the RMO (Sep 2020) and ACH (Aug 2021) from Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).Successfully received the Final Licenses from MAS for RMO and ACH in December 2023.
