As a communications leader, I help guide an organization’s overall communication strategy in support of the bottom line. I advise executives on communications-related matters to advance the company’s mission, goals, and strategies. In addition, I work to protect and advance an organization's reputation through external and internal communications. We build stronger cultures by connecting people—at all levels. By engaging employees in clear messaging regarding an organization’s mission, goals, and strategies, companies establish trust, create clarity and foster teamwork. In an inclusive culture, employees and leaders are more closely aligned and better able (and willing) to work together to support the company’s vision. I am particularly proud of:--Helping to build a strong corporate culture within Grand Circle Corporation as it grew into a multi-brand organization and expanded to more than 30 countries. --Advancing Grand Circle’s and the MA Executive Office of Elder Affairs’ missions internally and externally - both of which I considered an honor.--Helping to connect Road Scholar employees to each other during the isolating pandemic with frequent, engaging, and interactive communications. As a team player, I roll up my sleeves, get in the game, and give any project 1000%.For example, I was appointed to bring Grand Circle’s values-based culture to new offices, including to Thailand. Cultural norms there do not typically embrace the practice of “open and courageous communication,” which is a top Grand Circle value -- if it means admitting to problems, pointing to poor performance, or calling out someone who wasn’t doing a good job. I created a two-day training in which my Thai colleagues identified and presented the top values of their culture, and then we worked together to figure out how “open and courageous communication” and other Grand Circle values might be adapted to work within their culture. The training was a major success, and the Thai office ended up as one of Grand Circle’s top performers.
