Recently have had the opportunity to step in and fulfill the role of group lead of our intensive outpatient program to oversee training of group facilitators, schedule programming, coordinate orientation of group facilitators to program, provide curriculum updates and initiate adjustments. In my professional experience I have learned how to do assessments of patients and the health care process to ensure there is appropriate level of care and treatments as well as learned the value of patient education, to assess the psychological, social, cultural and/or financial needs that impact the psychiatric patient’s health and recovery.I have the opportunity to utilize social services, counseling and clinical knowledge in the assessment of these needs, utilizing DBT, CBT, strengths based, solution focused and Trauma Informed Care practice. I assist in discharge planning which will begin at the time of (or prior to) admission, and reassessed ongoing throughout the course of hospitalization.
