As a freelance consultant researcher my main role is to provide clients with extra senior-level support during busy periods or when headcount is down (e.g. maternity leave, sickness, sabbaticals, etc). I have learned to 'hit-the-deck-running' by getting involved in new projects at different stages of the research process - whether that be from writing the proposal to drafting and delivering final results.
