A Headend Engineer works with hardware and broadcast systems that are used acrosstelevision, radio and new media. They make sure that channels are broadcast onlineand to the highest level of quality. As well as operating and maintaining the systems,they also carry out updates and repairs.As an Engineer, I am responsible for everything at Head End. The setup should bemaintained well. Periodic tests must be conducted and recorded. Once it fails, fully orpartially, with the help of the technical team it must be rectified with in no time. Almostall equipments like Satellite Receivers (Decoders), Encoders (MPEG2, MPEG4), Remultiplexers, Scramblers, QAMs, Transmux, streamer, cas server, sms server, internetserver and equipment’s etc. are imported. I have to look after both S/W & H/W issues.set up studio equipment for transmission and editing design and set up audio and videocircuits install multimedia hardware, software and other digital broadcast technologysystems .set up and operate links between studios and OB units ,test and serviceequipment, find and repair technical faults as quickly as possible with minimum loss ofservice -

Job Responsibilities:Installation, commissioning and integration of a new BTS (2g)-and NOdeB(3G)equipment and NEC Microwave link. Complete the required installation as pergiven standards and obtain the required quality of the equipment andtransmission.BTS swap and Microwave link conversion within the given outage limit.Ensure 24x7 continuous operations of equipment and services-2G and 3GPerform preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance to restore the sitewith minimal downtime taking care of necessary safety precautions.
