Major Projects Accomplished:• Research and development of bioabsorbable coronary stent and drug eluting balloon.o Both these projects involve extensive use of polymers (esp. biodegradable polymers such as, PLA, PLGA) for the backbone fabrication of device as well as coating on device.o Developed the proto-type stent and generated all the bench test data in the time span of 1 year.o Developed the drug coating formulation and established the release profile within the time span of 1 year.• Development and transfer of instruments for processing and analysis of coronary stent delivery system such as, tensile tester, tractability and pushability testing instrument, balloon coating device and balloon fatigue/compliance tester within a time span of 1.5 years.• Provided critical inputs in stent design, drug coating formulation development and balloon catheter improvisation.
