(Acquired by Occidental Petroleum in Aug 2019)A key part of my role is to conduct research and analysis and assist in the design, implementation and administration of the company’s core executive and director compensation initiatives including competitive pay benchmarking, short- and long-term incentive programs, perquisites, etc. I manage the preparation and consolidation of meeting materials for the Compensation & Benefits Committee of the Board of Directors (Comp Committee), including coordination with the Board’s external consultant on meeting materials, prepare competitive data and plan design alternatives, and attend Comp Committee meetings, as needed.As a key member of the company’s proxy team, I take part in the development of an impactful CD&A that is responsive to shareholders, and am primarily responsible for accurate reporting and development of all proxy tables and related footnotes. I take part in shareholder engagement meetings throughout the year, and keep abreast with proxy advisory firms’ guidelines and methodologies, and other emerging executive compensation regulatory and market trends.I am also responsible for managing and driving continual process improvements in the equity administration function by providing supervision to the Stock Plan Administrator, effectively managing vendor and service provider relationships, including oversight of vendor RFPs as needed, and ensuring full compliance with all internal and external regulatory and reporting requirements. There are approximately 2,500 participants in the equity program globally.
Hr Projects & Planning And Global Salary Determination Advisor
As the Global Salary Determination Advisor, I was the SME to HR General Managers (GMs) and key HR contacts across three key Chevron business segments worldwide, covering approximately over 40,000 employees, on salary determination guidelines, processes and activities. I also managed the overall roll up approval process for salary determination, annual incentive plan (AIP), and long-term incentive (LTI) awards of senior management and executives by the Executive Personnel Development Committee (PDC), including data analytics and Committee material preparation. My other role on projects and planning involved managing key HR project & planning activities that are coordinated at the HQ level, such as timely and accurate reporting of the HR budget and business planning, and coordination of the leadership program nomination process. I was also involved in data analytics for the Executive PDC on various metrics and reviews, and played a key role in developing a process that enabled a more robust and methodical identification of employees for the Chevron leadership pipeline and succession management
Executive Compensation Advisor
I moved within 3 different roles while I was with the Exec Comp Group:1) As an Executive Compensation advisor, I facilitated the process for the Long-Term Incentive Plan (LTIP) and the Annual Incentive Plan for the Chevron officer and executive population, which was approximately over 4,000 employees in the U.S. and globally. Work included stakeholder engagements and training with HR contacts, assistance to the Exec Comp Manager on grant level determination for the non-US population, participation in executive reward surveys, data analysis, and material preparation for the Management Compensation Committee (MCC), Board of Director’s review and approval.2) As the Stock Plan Administrator, I managed stock options/awards administration such as reconciling issuance from Treasury shares, and performing SOX mandated assessments, including audits of exercise, tax, swap reports and restoration grants, among others. Helped managed vendor service delivery for global equity plans, including payments, grants, tax withholding, communications, and escalations. 3) As an Executive Compensation Counselor, I was responsible for providing counsel to senior management/ executives, outside financial advisors, and HR BPs on Chevron executive plan benefits, including the LTI, restoration and deferred compensation plans. I was involved in external reporting, including preparation and review of data and notes required in the annual proxy statement. I also served as the key vendor liaison and managed vendor service delivery, specifically for the restoration plan and the financial counseling program for executives, and reviewed computation of retirement values, taxes, payments, and case escalations. I prepared retirement benefit analysis of key Chevron executives for the MCC of the Board of Directors.My role required for me to keep abreast with fast changing regulations and requirements that may impact executive compensation administration, such as 409A, Dodd Frank Act, and 280G.
Global Total Remuneration (Tr) Analyst
Participated in various TR related projects such as global comparative pay and benefits review. As the process owner for payroll transfers across Chevron globally, I conducted periodic stakeholder engagements to streamline the process, acted as process advisor to HR BPs and HR GM’s, and managed the application of the benefits international mixed service policy and the approval process with all HR GM's. Additionally I managed the Chevron global insurance pooling which included vendor management, stakeholder engagement across international locations, data review and issue resolution.
