Augmented analytics also includes natural language processing (NLP) as a way of querying data and of generating narratives to explain drivers and graphics.My team has delivered several innovative features under the Augmented Analytics umbrella. These include:- A Machine Learning platform that allows business analysts with minimal ML expertise to train models as well as consume models from other Oracle ML platforms such as Database ML and the OCI Data Science platform. - Several advanced analytics features that allow business analysts to leverage the OAC platform to derive insights out of complex, unstructured data. These include support for Text Tokenization, Graph analytics, Market Basket analysis, OCI Vision service to analyze images, Time Series forecasting, etc.- Turnkey Insights: Leverage ML and other statistical techniques to support: - Auto Insights: Proactively analyze datasets to identify the most relevant attributes of the dataset and suggest visual insights based on these attributes. - Explain: Get deep insights on specific measures or dimensions in a dataset. For instance, an analyst can explain the Sales measure to find Key Drivers that influence sales, Segments of the population that amplify or reduce sales, and Anomalies in the data. - Right-click Analytics: Allows an analyst to add rich insights such as Clusters, Outliers, Forecast, Trend Line, and a Reference Line to any visualization. The blueprint encompasses (a) Business Processing aspects such as Service Offerings, Custom Attributes, Service Associations, Customer Notification Templates, Pricing information, Utility/Overage Billing Information, etc and (b) Physical Provisioning aspects such as Multi-Tenant POD definitions (VMs, Storage Volumes, Network configuration, VM configuration scripts, etc), Tenant placement plug-ins, Per-Tenant footprint creation plug-ins, Monitoring configuration, Identity Management footprint configuration, URL Routing configuration, etc. • A request processing framework and an orchestration engine that realizes the blueprint in a fully automated fashion. • A POD Manager component built on top of an IaaS platform that lays down a virtualized service footprint (VMs, Storage, VLANs, etc), orchestrates per-VM and across-VM configuration, and tracks allocated physical assets in the data center. -- Common Infrastructure Services • Messaging Service: Provides support for Queuing and Publish/Subscribe notions in a cloud based service for applications running within or outside the Oracle Cloud. • Access Control Service: A cloud based service that allows consuming applications to define custom resource namespaces, secure them, and enforce AuthR/AuthZ based on the OAuth protocol. Over the past year or so, my team has been working on adding Expertise Management and Social Computing features to the Beehive product.The Expertise Management server crawls artifacts (such as Email messages, Documents, Wiki pages, Blogs, etc) authored by users, converts the binary content in various formats (such as word, pdf, etc) to text as needed, performs linguistic analysis of the content to extract noun phrases, and builds a profile of the user that captures the user's interests and expertise with a confidence attached to each phrase. Users can subsequently search for experts in specific areas and the server acts as a broker to route these search requests in a single-blind fashion to matched user profiles i.e. the matched user's identity is not revealed to the searcher unless the user accepts the request. This unique brokering model ensures privacy while allowing deployments to tap into the knowledge dispersed across the organization.The Social Computing framework we added to Beehive includes support for social networks: explicit (mutual connections as well as non-mutual following), implicit (such as the reporting structure), and derived networks (relationships derived by analyzing artifacts such as email messages, calendar meetings, etc).
