Current• Manage Server Operating Systems, Centralized Monitoring and Database teams up to 18 senior engineers with responsibility for supporting both physical and virtualized servers (2500+) in multiple data centers and in the Cloud.• Managed Windows/Linux/ESX/Active Directory/SFTP• Managed AWS Cloud governance – Architecture, account management, creating landing zones, security, controlling costs• Migrated SFTP application into AWS with Cloud native AWS Transfer Family tool. • Responsible for implementing automated server build processes using PowerShell & Ansible/Terraform scripting that include; operating systems, IP addressing, DNS assignments, storage assignments that deliver servers in less than 5 minutes. • Collaborated with peers in Datacenter Operations to reduce operating system maintenance windows by 60% with zero-down-time methodology. • Migrated systems into a new datacenter as part of an acquisition • Negotiated license costs with the vendors • Implemented Kernelcare for zero downtime Linux patching • Produce and maintain a department roadmap to use as the primary path to predict and measure both system and team progression. Develop, document, and communicate plans for investing in systems architecture, including analysis of initiatives that would result in cost reduction or product performance enhancement. • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of systems development efforts, deploy and automate computing technologies that will increase application performance, cost effectiveness and systems flexibility. • Optimally utilize existing computing resources to meet application needs; tracking asset performance and utilization on a continuous basis; and performing other duties as required.
