Led a team of technical experts conducting appraisals and performance testing emergency management programs at facilities throughout the Department of Energy (DOE) complex. Additionally: * Team Lead for a DOE Office of Enterprise Assessments Management study of the role of social media in emergency management entitled Integration of Social Media Into Emergency Public Information (January, 2021).* Deployed to Puerto Rico as a Logistics Specialist with the Department of Homeland Security surge capacity force in response to hurricane Maria (2017).

Navy Captain (O-6), U.S. Navy Reserve, recalled to active duty. Team Chief of one of six JSIVA teams that represented the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff in assessing antiterrorism, incident response, and consequence management programs of U.S. DoD installations worldwide. Additionally:

Was a member of the DoD FEMA Region VII responsible for coordinating the incident response to natural and man-made disaster within the four state FEMA Region VII AOR and large-scale disasters within the United States. Additionally:* Advised local area commanders on Defense Support to Civil Authorities, National Response Framework, Continuity of Government, National Incident Management System and the Stafford Act. Developed strong working relations with several emergency response organizations throughout the midwest.* Deployed to Baton Rouge, LA in 2005 in response to hurricanes Katrina/Rita. Supported the military response to civil authorities, coordinated military assets including salvage efforts, responder support, and airborne assets.

Planned the emergency responses to natural and radiological disasters for three southeast Nebraska counties. Worked with Federal, state and local emergency responders and civil authorities in writing and revising radiological emergency preparedness plans.
