Primary responsibility as principal advisor to Commanding General Marine Corps Installations Pacific on all matters related to program operations. Provided executive level operational organization and management of all Semper Fit activities and resources for seven geographically separated military installations. Supervised program managers for Health Promotion, Athletics, and Aquatics programs. Gained in-depth insight into Semper Fit organization structure, culture, and a role multiplier for III MEF and MCIPAC missions. Worked with Director of Sports Medicine at Rehabilitation Treatment (SMART) on Okinawa. Provided strategic and tactical perspective on plans to reduce recreational injuries among Marines. Efforts culminated into a Sports Medicine symposium for Senior Leaders scheduled for February 2014. Worked closely with Health Promotion Program Manager to facilitate the “nine core health promotion brief” to single Marines. Linked health promotion briefers to single Marines for following: Hypertension Education, Tobacco Cessation, Injury Prevention, Nutrition Education, Physical Fitness Education, STD/HIV Awareness, Stress Management, Suicide Awareness and Alcohol & Substance Abuse Prevention. Developed complementary 180-event sporting calendar for year 2013. Teamed with Athletics on executing Commanders Cup & Commanding Generals Cup soccer, basketball, golf, bowling, and racquetball resulting in eliminated duplication, achieved synergy and maximized participation. Responsible for long range planning and development of activities and programs that enhance quality of life for service members stationed overseas. Includes conducting, encouraging and inspiring to promote healthy lifestyles through recreation, athletics, physical fitness, and other health and wellness pursuits. Principal advisor to the Commander of a major military installation providing all the requirements of a city with an airport, seaport, and base services (housing, DoD schools, hotel, postal, legal, police, fire, financial, shopping center, dining, recreation, spiritual, athletics/sports programs, aquatics, health promotion, single Marine program, public works, transportation, community development, telephone, health, TV and radio broadcasting, media relations, and force protection), with additional responsibilities to support regional theater operations plans. Planned and coordinated major policy modifications within organization and other agencies using LSS principals. Served as a station principal in the planning and movement of Carrier Air Group 5, from Atsugi to Iwakuni; which included developing and conducting workforce needs and value stream analysis. Planning to meet community growth from 5,500 to 11,000 personnel. Ensured all tenets, equal opportunity and safety regulations were followed. Oversaw the administration of discrimination complaints processed and ensured all procedural requirements and substantive issues were fully met. Participated as a voting member for the command Family Advocacy Case Review Committee in which determination is made on the outcome of domestic violence casesServed as Senior Facilitator in a team of diversified members composed of U.S. and Japanese employees.
