Sr. Manufacturing and Quality Engineering Technician – Union, South Carolina 2009 to 2014• Facilitated the move and start-up of the Union, South Carolina manufacturing facility. Determined production timelines, worked with manufacturing engineers to develop wire forming production processes and sourced, justified, designed and set-up equipment. Responsible for inventory concerns as well as testing to ensure quality standards were met. • Developed, trained, evaluated and documented employee progress compliant to Esab Quality Manual, ASME, Military and Nuclear specifications; wrote procedures and trained technicians for the Materials Weld Testing Lab in South Carolina.• Managed continuous improvement projects for the plant. Analyzed production/quality data, wrote operating procedures to increase productivity, as well as designed and tested experiments for product improvement. • Functioned as a customer concerns specialist responsible for working with sales to address customers’ quality concerns. Worked globally to remedy defective product and complaints.• Accomplishment: Team leader working with outside consultants, R&D, quality, engineering, welding technicians and welding engineers for the North American solid wire improvement project. Team tasked with defining what quality product is, how to create it and developing testing methods to insure end product met standards. • Accomplishment: Improved production quality of weld wire which reduced customer returns from 25,000 pounds per week to under 10,000 pounds per week.
