Founded in 1997 by Dr. Barry A. Kligerman the Intracoastal Dental Study Club is a unique group of dentists and dental specialists who are dedicated to the improvement of excellence in comprehensive dentistry. Our members are some of the most prominent dentists in the southeast area of Florida. We believe in the importance of striving for excellence in our dental profession, with empathy towards the well being of our patients. The Intracoastal Dental Study Club is an affiliate of the prestigious Seattle Study Club, an organization that includes over 250 study clubs worldwide. Our dental study club integrates all aspects of General Dentistry, Periodontics, Orthodontics, Endodontic, Restorative Dentistry, and Oral Surgery, promoting excellencies in total case management and interdisciplinary comprehensive treatment planning.Members of the Intracoastal Dental Study Club meet monthly from September through June in a small, relaxed group setting with other dentists committed to increase their knowledge and bring exceptional patient care. Our Dental Study Club also provides continuing education by inviting some of the nation’s most well-known speakers and clinicians to present full day and/or evening sessions for continuing education programs during the course of the year. Our members earn up to 35 hours of CDE credits, as well as enjoy great food and beverages. Patients of the Intracoastal Dental Study Club participants know their doctor has made a commitment to a high level of clinical care, the best innovations of modern dentistry, and pursuit of advanced education provided by renowned dental educators.

Raul Cook earned his dental degree from CES University, Colombia, in 1994. In 1998 he achieved a Master in Public Health in the CES University as well. He completed a 3-year Master Program in Periodontics at Saint Louis University in 2008, and his research project was on “The Mandibular Density Heritability in a Captive Baboon Population”. Dr. Cook, during his Master program, was a Clinical Instructor for the undergraduate medical-dental students from Southern Illinois University. In 2001, he worked as an Assistant Faculty at the College of Dentistry at University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Cook worked as a general dentist for several years and work with different international health organizations such as World Health Organization developing health programs in Colombia. Dr. Cook is a member of the America Academy of Periodontology, Broward County Dental Association and Fort Lauderdale Study Club. Dr. Cook is a director of the Seattle Study Club - Intracoastal Dental Study Club and offer seminars for dental continuing education. In addition, he is an active member of two Spear Study clubs. Dr. Cook is the first Periodontist as part of the Broward Health Medical Center and Imperial Point.
