Developed software which increased efficiencies in all departments at PMTG. This was done by creating new applications, modifying existing applications and by integrating in-house software with third-party applications. I also provided support for in-house and third-party software applications. • Developed an electronic proof of delivery (ePOD) application, a multi-platform mobile app, which removed the need for paper deliver receipts and provides real-time delivery documents and status information to customers.• Created a dynamic inventory management and load building application, that added the ability for sites to share inventory, which allowed for more profitable loads to be created.• Integrated PMTG's internal inventory management system with TMW, a third-party dispatch system, which removed manual processes for dispatch personnel.• Used RESTful Web Services to interface with XRS, an electronic logging device, to provide real-time GPS truck positioning to internal PMTG systems as well as supplying the safety department with driver log errors.• Created the companies business intelligence tool using BIRT.• Involved in the creation of web-based applications that provided paperless payroll, secure employee communications, and electronic vacation requests.• Developed an application, which uses load details and truck GPS readings to determine if a driver drove the most optimal route.

I started out with ProQuest as a junior software engineer after graduating from college. Over the 6 years I was there, I was steadily promoted with increasing responsibilities to my final title of Senior Software Engineer. I developed software as a member of the Electronic Document Manufacturing team. The software increased the range of documents which could be manufactured and also improved the quality of data in the ProQuest vault by providing tools to QC and correct documents.• Full life-cycle development of a tool, which allows users to edit and QC metadata in documents and put corrected documents into the ProQuest vault.• Developed an XML editor used within tools at ProQuest, that overcame issues of a third-party editor and allowed users to be more productive.• Created a Java application which allowed users to break apart PDF documents into text and graphics components, reorganize the components and manufacture them into the ProQuest vault.• Served as the technical lead on a development project which proved that text and graphics could be electronically manufactured into the ProQuest vault.• Mentored junior programmers on my team.• Enhanced and modified C/C++ and Visual C++ code in an electronic document manufacturing system to make it more maintainable as well as improve performance.• Documented an electronic document manufacturing system so that the Product Support department would take over 7/24 support of the system.• Learned Delphi and modified an application to use an Oracle database instead of MS SQL and added administration forms to the application.
