Hello! I have been teaching for eight years. Four of those years were in a special education, elementary resource classroom working with students in kindergarten through fifth grade. For the past four years I have been teaching in the general education classroom teaching students from first grade through third. I love taking the skills and strategies that I learned while working with students that qualify for special education and applying them in the general education setting where all can benefit. The idea of Universal Design is one that I use often. Daily I practice and improve on my professional skills of collaboration, time management, classroom management, lesson design, data analysis, and leadership. That is one of the wonderful things about teaching; you are always learning and growing. I currently live in a small town outside of Olympia, WA with my two children, husband, dog, and chickens.
