With over 20 years of experience in the field of water data and information services, I am a passionate and driven leader who strives to advance the mission and vision of Great Lakes Observing System (GLOS). As the Chief Operations Officer, I oversee the financial and daily operations, agreements, contracts and grants management, and human resources of the organization. I have a strong background in fiscal management, grant administration, and nonprofit management, as well as a certification in conflict resolution from eCornell.In my current role, I am responsible for formulating and executing annual operating budgets, analyzing budget and fiscal reports, reviewing and facilitating procurement, tracking operational money flows, and serving as an expert advisor on developing major programs within the leadership team. I also review, prepare and submit agreements with vendors and other contractors, manage grants and reporting requirements, oversee grant and NEPA compliance, and work with staff in interpreting HR policies and directives. Previously, I served as the Director of Programming and Operations, where I managed the daily operations of GLOS’ staff, projects, and business operations, ensured alignment with GLOS’ mission and strategy, developed and executed the annual work plan and budget, and established and maintained relationships with various stakeholders throughout the bi-national Great Lakes region. I also contributed to the Smart Great Lakes, which integrated data from distributed sensors using resilient networks. I am proficient in French and have authored multiple publications on the ecological impacts of wind energy and the smart lakes and oceans concept.
