Lead Preschool Teacher
Current-Maintains a caseload of up to 16 children; facilitates ongoing communication with families to set and review meaningful, actionable goals for their child -Facilitates family intake sessions and obtains pertinent information about the child/family to prepare for their entry into the preschool program -Collaborates with the interdisciplinary teaching and therapy team (i.e., SLP, OT, PT.) providing client-centred care to children with special needs -Creates and implements IPP goals, led gross-motor equipment transitions, directed feeding and diapering routines, guided group sensory & story/music circle -Provides developmental support strategies to children/families and engages in ongoing observation and evaluation of the child’s development-Coordinated and led a ‘Behaviour Management’ workshop for volunteers/placement students and helps facilitate ‘Curriculum Night’ and ‘Kindergarten Transitions’ workshops for parents-Supervises and mentors multiple placement students and volunteers year-round re: supporting children with developmental differences
