Delivery:I helped unload, organise and put away goods from the truck into the respective storage facilities. E.g. Steaks, fruit and veg.Prep and Par:Before service me and other team members would run through our forecasted checklist to prep the required amount for the current day and top up any extras using an oldest first approach. We also day dotted and labelled every item especially polypots.Plate up:I did a bit of plating when it was not too busy. This was mostly positioning food nicely on the plates, reading the display for the order and providing covers with chips if required.Deserts:I excelled at making deserts, I have a passion for creating elegant designs and cold treats. I served Profiteroles, Banoffee Pie, Brownies, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Orange Bomb, and our popular Crème Brulee. Pot wash:Refilling the dishwasher with chemicals and salt, keeping waiters safe by staying on top of it. e.g. too much cutlery meant sharp objects could hurt others.Closing:Two stage clean surfaces using Oasis Pro then Desguard. I also emptied the grease trap each night and mopped the floor. Some days I would refill Blue Roll if it's empty and during service I would make sure the Chefs have enough clean plates.

With a fast paced environment, especially at Summer and Graduation times, the service gets very busy. An example was a week where we made £98,000 from orders. I had to maintain a high standard by keeping my station clean and consistently having new stake plated ready for service. Coincidently, this meant I would need to also ask others if they need help so no one gets backed up.

Working with a team of fantastic individuals to manage a fast paced environment. As a Kitchen Porter, I had to have dishes prepared for the chefs, clean all the left overs from dirty plates, and have a systematic timely order of activities to carry out in the intermedium. These range from emptying grease, refilling the dishwasher, and putting trash in the appropriate bins outside.

I work around the office to ensure the network is setup correctly to cut costs for the owner. I have also setup and installed other systems such as computers to be sold to clients.I worked around the facility to install a File Storage Server and restored Computer Systems to its original integrity.
