Hello! My name is Reed Jorgensen (Chinese: 乔睿德), and I am a musician as well as a Music Technology and Chinese language student at the Georgia Institute of Technology. My passion for music began when I picked up the saxophone in middle school, and I soon fell in love with jazz.I’ve been fortunate to perform the saxophone across the globe. In addition to performing in the southeastern United States, I’ve played in Melbourne and Sydney, Australia, as well as Hong Kong and Shenzhen, China. In addition to music, I am deeply passionate about STEM. My favorite subject in high school was math, and by the age of 17, I was tinkering with analog circuits and repairing electronic devices. This eventually led me to Georgia Tech, where I’m combining my love for electronics with music through a focus on Music Technology, with a thread in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE).Outside of STEM and music, I have a strong interest in the Chinese language. Mandarin has a rich history that is reflected in its linguistic structure, and since April 2023, I have been consistently advancing my Mandarin proficiency. I’m not only committed to learning the language but also to helping others learn it. I am currently developing a Mandarin Chinese learning toolbox for Georgia Tech’s Modern Language department to assist beginner and intermediate learners in improving their writing skills. My career goals are to continue pursuing my passions in music, STEM, and Chinese
