Instructor -Training Non-Accredited
Current-Lead in development, coordination, and presentation of training for non-accredited programs such as safety, environmental, leadership, etc. to provide training to support plant operations and comply with programmatic requirements.- Lead analysis of technical material and change actions (operating experience, modifications, procedure changes, etc.) in order to prepare/update evaluation tool content, task lists/matrices and, therefore, provide technically adequate and effective training materials for use by the site and (as necessary) the fleet. Provide training, sufficient for site personnel to perform their job functions and to satisfy programmatic requirements of non-accredited training programs.- Lead and conduct training in a manner to ensure plant goals, objectives, and standards are met; ensure that assigned training facilities and training aids promote a professional learning environment; and ensure that training is delivered in a cost-effective, consistent, and professional manner.- Prepare required training records: review for accuracy and completeness and forward for retention per procedures to attest to adequate training of personnel to perform their job functions.- Monitor and assess training and job performance activities for opportunities for improvement that can be incorporated into training. Address training requirements in site procedures, provide performance data to maintain the programs; and provide feedback to site management regarding needed modifications or procedure changes.-Counsel trainees with respect to performance, recommend appropriate remedial actions, maintain examination integrity, and apply high performance standards during training and performance evaluations to certify only those personnel who have demonstrated the ability to safely and efficiently perform their job functions.
Nuclear Security Supervisor
•Direct shift security operations, ensuring the shift activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable TVA policies, programs, and procedures; physical security and contingency plans; and federal, state, and local regulations. Conduct safe and reliable security operations ensuring that the safety and welfare of the plant staff and general public is never compromised. Provide supervisory oversight of station nuclear security officers, function as an alarm station operator and direct the response force in normal and contingency operations. • Coordinates, evaluates, and directs the security operation, removal from and return to service of security equipment and systems including obtaining authorization and implementation of clearances and operability evaluations.• Coordinate and administer on-the-job training, technical skills development and maintenance of qualifications for subordinates.• Responsible for human resource activities, time reporting, and disciplinary action recommendations.• Track and verify security work hour regulations, make appropriate work assignment adjustments as necessary to maintain compliance.• Determine security reportability requirements to ensure compliance with security plan and plant licensing requirements and makes recommendations to the security shift lieutenant and security shift supervisor on course of action to take. • Provide input to the development of security related training, procedures, and other written instruction/guidance documents.• Strong computer skills to include excel, word, and PowerPoint.• Supervises, coordinates and directs the activities of nuclear security officers to ensure security activities are accomplished in accordance with the physical security plan (PSP) and corresponding security policies, procedures and instructions along with other regulatory commitments to ensure regulatory compliance.
Nuclear Security Officer
-Control entry processing of all individuals into protected and vital areas of the plant by verifying identity and authorization to enter.-Conduct personnel and vehicle searches that are required in accordance with the plant security requirements.-Respond to intrusion alarms as directed by the response team leader or as a security officer on patrol.-Deter attempts by unauthorized persons seeking to gain entry into protected or vital areas of the plant.-Make scheduled and unscheduled patrols of the protected and vital areas of the plant.-Report all observed security and safety violations.-Keep a record of patrols.-Secure, protect, and assist at accidents, fires, and similar areas of mishap until relieved.-Perform as armed escort for persons or vehicles as required by the Security Plan.-Operate company vehicle during patrol of Owner Controlled Area.-Conduct operational tests of intrusion detection, and contraband detection equipment according to documented procedures.
